Suryakumar Yadav: ముంబైలోని ఆంధేరి స్పోర్ట్స్ కాంప్లెక్స్ ఫుట్‌బాల్ అరేనా వేదికగా జరిగిన MLBx ముంబై బేస్‌బాల్ టోర్నమెంట్‌లో భారత టీ20 మాజీ కెప్టెన్ సూర్యకుమార్ యాదవ్ (Suryakumar Yadav) తనదైన శైలిలో నవ్వులు పూయించాడు. మేజర్ లీగ్ బేస్‌బాల్ (MLB) ఇండియా బ్రాండ్ అంబాసిడర్‌గా హాజరైన సూర్య, వేదికపై టీమిండియా మాజీ హెడ్ కోచ్ రవిశాస్త్రి ఆల్-టైమ్ వైరల్ డైలాగ్‌ను రీక్రియేట్ చేసి ప్రేక్షకులను విశేషంగా ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు. స్కై ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహించిన న్యూయార్క్ యాంకీస్ (New York Yankees) జట్టు శనివారం (అక్టోబర్ 24) జరిగిన ఈ MLBx ముంబై 3-ఆన్-3 ఈవెంట్ ఛాంపియన్‌గా నిలిచింది.

ఫైనల్ మ్యాచుల్లో తన కెప్టెన్సీ గురించి సూర్యకుమార్ యాదవ్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. నేను నిజాయితీగా చెప్పాలంటే.. కెప్టెన్‌గా గతంలో రెండు ఫైనల్స్ ఓడిపోలేదు, అందుకే ఈ మూడో ఫైనల్ కూడా ఓడిపోకూడదు అనుకున్నాను.. కానీ మ్యాచ్ జరుగుతున్నంత సేపు కొద్దిసేపు.. రవి భాయ్ భాషలో చెప్పాలంటే 'థోడీ దేర్ కే లియే గోటీ మూహ్ మే థా' (కొద్దిసేపు గుండె గొంతుకలో పడింది) అంటూ వ్యాఖ్యానించాడు. గతంలో రవిశాస్త్రి ఒక ఇంటర్వ్యూలో ఉత్కంఠపరమైన విజయం గురించి చెప్తూ అన్న ఈ డైలాగ్ క్రికెట్ ఫ్యాన్స్‌లో ఐకానిక్ మీమ్‌గా మారిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. ఇప్పుడు సూర్య అదే డైలాగ్‌ను బేస్‌బాల్ వేదికపై రీక్రియేట్ చేయడంతో మైదానమంతా నవ్వుల పువ్వులు విరిశాయి.

భారత్‌లో బేస్‌బాల్ క్రీడను ప్రచారం చేయడానికి నిర్వహించిన ఈ 3-ఆన్-3 టోర్నమెంట్ మ్యాచ్‌లు అభిమానులను విపరీతంగా ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి. సూర్యకుమార్ యాదవ్‌తో పాటు బేస్‌బాల్ దిగ్గజం నిక్ స్విషర్, సాఫ్ట్‌బాల్ ఎంవీపీ రేచెల్ గార్సియాలతో కూడిన న్యూయార్క్ యాంకీస్ జట్టు ఫైనల్లో సంచలన విజయం సాధించి ట్రోఫీని ముద్దాడింది. ఈ ఈవెంట్‌లో ఇండియన్ క్రికెటర్లు, బేస్‌బాల్ స్టార్స్ పాల్గొని తమ హిట్టింగ్ నైపుణ్యాలతో ముంబై ప్రేక్షకులను అలరించారు.

The former India T20I captain Suryakumar, who tried his hands at the popular American sport, was accompanied by other Indian cricketers Jitesh Sharma, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and Radha Yadav. "It is a very big sport, I felt it when I went to New York recently and the atmosphere was amazing. We wanted to carry the same thing here in Mumbai as well. The crowd was similar, but I am sure when they will get to know about this sport more, it will go bigger," Suryakumar said. He added, "I think it is all about good range hitting, but whatever it is, you have to be strong from your mind to your lower body, have good core, and have strong arm like these people, work really hard, nothing comes easy."
