No KCR, Shah meetings in Huzurzbzd
  • No permissions for massive gatherings
  • Corona protocols dampens the scene

Huzurabad, Velugu: The fear of Corona and the protocols to be followed have dampened the spirit of campaign for Huzurabad by election. As the date of polling nearing, the leaders of contesting parties have planned massive campaign strategies. But the Corona restrictions regarding the public meetings and ban on massive gatherings have become a stumbling block for the coming of key leaders of the key parties to campaign for them. In this backdrop it is learnt that the State Chief Minister and ruling TRS chief KCR and BJP senior leader and Central Home Minister Amit Shah may not be coming for campaign and it is also said that other senior leaders of the contesting parties may be away from the public meetings as there are restrictions that the such meetings should be conducted with not more than thousand people. The party sources concerned have given clear indications that the local leaders themselves should look after the by poll issues. They said that their requests for public meetings were rejected in the wake Corona third wave warnings. As there is no scope for massive public gatherings to turn the tide the party leaders are concentrating on small campaign strategies so as to lure voters. It is already known that the nomination filing process will end on Friday and that the polling will be held on 30th. The parties can campaign until 27th of this month. To utilize the available time to their best advantage, leaders and the cadre contesting parties are making no stone unturned to get the favor of the voters. The BJP leader and the candidate Eatala Rajander has been conducting house to house campaign since he resigned from TRS. He also completed the padayatra in a number of villages in order to get nearer to the people. Prominent leaders, MLAs, MLCs and Ministers of ruling TRS under the leadership of Minister Harish Rao have been campaigning rigorously in order to see that the winner will be their candidate. The Congress party, which delayed the announcement of its candidates, is yet to increase the campaign speed.

TRS trying for permission

The ruling TRS is trying hard for a public meeting with its supreme leader KCR at least a day before the end of the campaign date. In fact is has already made arrangements for it and planned to gather people from nearby areas. But Corona restrictions have dampened its spirit. Now it is making every effort to get permission for the public meeting, which it believes will definitely favors its candidate. There have been allegations that the main reason for the spread of Corona virus second wave was due to Assembly elections in West Bengal, Kerala and Tamilnadu and other by elections. The Madras High Court had castigated the Tamilinadu CEC for its negligence. In the back drop of third wave warnings, the EC is very firm on implementing the Corona rules to the core. With the EC not yielding, the TRS leaders are certain that there will not be a public meeting addressed by KCR and he will be away from the campaign. The comment made by Minister Gangula Kamalakar that the Chief Minister KCR is not giving importance to the by poll is significant in this back ground. The BJP candidate Etala Rajendra has been campaigning for himself without depending on any one. The Central Home Minister Amit Shah promised to attend a public meeting in Huzurrabad and BJP planned to rope in some popular leaders also for campaign. But Corona restrictions have diluted its plans. The opposition Congress party is also facings the same situation as there Is no possibility of national leaders coming for the compaign.
