అమెరికా ప్రముఖ ఆర్థిక వేత్త, విదేశీ విధాన నిపుణుడు జెఫ్రీ సాక్స్ ప్రపంచ రాజకీయాలపై చేసిన కామెంట్స్ తీవ్ర చర్చనీయాంశంగా మారాయి. వారణాసి వేదికగా జరిగిన 'అరిస్టాటిల్-కొన్‌ఫ్యూషియస్ సింపోజియం'లో ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ.. అమెరికా, వెస్ట్రన్ దేశాల అహంకార ధోరణే ప్రపంచంలో జరుగుతున్న అనర్థాలకు, యుద్ధాలకు అసలు కారణమని కుండబద్దలు కొట్టారు.
ఆధునిక ప్రపంచంలో ఎలా బతకాలో అమెరికాకు ఇంకా అర్థం కావడం లేదని సాక్స్ విమర్శించారు. అగ్రరాజ్యం ఇప్పటికీ 1950 నాటి పాత భావజాలంలోనే ఉండిపోయిందని, ప్రపంచాన్ని తామే శాసించాలనే "బాస్" మెంటాలిటీ నుంచి బయటపడలేకపోతోందని అన్నారు. అమెరికా అధ్యక్షుడి తీరును ఎద్దేవా చేస్తూ.. ఆయన ఇంకా చిన్నపిల్లాడిలా వ్యవహరిస్తూ ప్రపంచమంతా తమ గుప్పిట్లోనే ఉండాలని భావిస్తున్నారని ఘాటు విమర్శలు చేశారు. కేవలం అమెరికా మాత్రమే కాకుండా.. యూరోపియన్ దేశాలు కూడా పాత సామ్రాజ్యవాద భావనల నుంచే బయటకు రాలేలేకపోతున్నాయని ఆక్షేపించారు.

ప్రస్తుతం మిడిల్‌ఈస్ట్‌లో జరుగుతున్న యుద్ధాలన్నీ ఆధిపత్య పోరాటమేనని స్పష్టం చేశారు ఆర్థికవేత్త. ఇరాన్ లాంటి ప్రాచీన నాగరికత కలిగిన దేశంపై అమెరికా పెత్తనం చెలాయించాలని చూస్తోందని మండిపడ్డారు. అమెరికా వయసు కంటే 10 రెట్లు పురాతనమైన చరిత్ర ఇరాన్‌ది అని గుర్తుచేశారు. ఇరాన్ కొత్త నాయకుడిని తామే డిసైడ్ చేస్తామని అమెరికా అధ్యక్షులు సోషల్ మీడియాలో పోస్టులు పెట్టడం హాస్యాస్పదమని, అమెరికా జోక్యం వల్లనే భూమిపై చాలా చోట్ల యుద్ధాలు జరుగుతున్నాయని సాక్స్ దుయ్యబట్టారు.
ఇదే సమయంలో భవిష్యత్తు ప్రపంచ స్వరూపంపై ఆయన ఆసక్తికరమైన జోస్యం చెప్పారు. 21వ శతాబ్దం నాటికి ప్రపంచ జనాభాలో ముప్పావు వంతు ఆఫ్రికా, ఆసియా దేశాల చేతుల్లోనే ఉంటుందని తెలిపారు. శతాబ్దం చివరి నాటికి ఆఫ్రికాలో 30 శాతం జనాభా ఉంటుందని, ఆసియా సగం ప్రపంచాన్ని ఆక్రమిస్తుందని చెప్పారు. చైనా కంటే రెట్టింపు జనాభాతో భారత్ ప్రపంచంలోనే అతిపెద్ద ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థగా అవతరిస్తుందని ధీమా వ్యక్తం చేశారు. అమెరికా లాంటి దేశాలు తమ పాతకాలపు ఆలోచనలు వీడితేనే ప్రపంచంలో శాంతి సాధ్యమవుతుందని సాక్స్ హెచ్చరించారు.
